Co-Founded a mobile app and web-based marketplace aimed to create more opportunities for students

Our Stack

For our mobile app, we used React Native front end paired with AWS serverless backend to create an application that made it easy for students to communicate with their direct classmates.

For our web-based marketplace, we relied on NextJS as well as AWS Amplify, Cognito, Dynamo DB, and Stripe to create a platform that allows students to consult mentors to get where they want to go.

Product Management

To ensure successful SDLC, we implemented Agile, Scrum, and Kanban methodologies. Using these, we were able to efficiently assign tasks, manage deadlines, and create successful launches with little to no bugs.

Using Figma, I was able to create intricate and focused designs to share with development that not only followed industry standards, but kept in mind our scope and fast-paced environment.

Financial Planning & Analysis

Using a custom-built financial model, I was able to analyze potential solutions and outcomes given a variety of changes to assumptions in revenue, expenses, pricing structure, and more. This led to enhanced decision-making based on quantitative data.

Implementing Stripe, we were able to host a scalable transaction structure using their API to make sure students never felt like they were leaving our site.

Our Growth

Launching our mobile app at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Loyola University, and DePaul University, we were able to acquire ~750 users with a greatest single-day performance at 70 user signups.

With our marketplace platform, we onboarded over 250 mentors and talked to hundreds of students and parents to gain feedback, improve our offerings and create more value.

Using platforms like Mixpanel and Google Analytics, I was able to create visualizations to properly analyze our data. Before these integrations, SQL and R were used to query data and analyze trends.
